The goal is to welcome this person into your family, share your culture with them and they would share their culture with you. Having another adult in your home to assist with day to day tasks is invaluable. The Au Pair can help with pet care, light household duties, cooking,  or even just being home to bring package deliveries inside.

Start by reaching out to us by email to book a free consultation. 

If you decide to move ahead in the process we will send you the application where you will provide information about your family, parenting styles, and some photos. You can choose to also submit a letter to your future Au Pair outlining your vision of how you would work together.  

We will have an in person or virtual meeting to do a home check, so the Au Pair can feel confident the information they were provided is accurate and be reassured in their decision.  

We will then provide you with the profiles of the available Au Pairs. You then select Au Pairs you would like to contact to start the interview process and we send you their email. You will reach out to them and start chatting, either by email or in a video chat. 

We will reach out to the Au Pair and provide them with your profile so they can decide if they would like to discuss potentially matching with your family. 

We will provide some examples of questions you might want to consider discussing with the Au Pair. 

Once both the host family and the Au Pair decide they would like to "match" or proceed with hiring, we will draft an employment contract with the terms and conditions mutually agreed upon by both parties. 

Upon signing of the contract, an invoice will be sent to the host family for payment for the placement. 

Helping Hands Nanny and Au Pair Services will then help finalize details such as flights and arrival dates. We will also provide some helpful tips to help your Au Pair adjust to life in Canada and some things to do during their first weeks here.
